Analytics Engagement Specialist III at Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium

Jay Merculief-Barker has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry, particularly in data management and informatics. From 1994 to 2022, Jay held various roles at different organizations. At the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) since 2022, Jay is an Analytics Adoption Specialist III responsible for building and supporting a data-driven infrastructure in the Tribal Health System. Prior to that, Jay worked at the SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) from 1994 to 2022, holding roles such as Data Analyst, Senior Manager Revenue Cycle Informatics, Clinical Analyst II, Systems Analyst-IT, Coder-RHIT, EHR Project Manager, RPMS Site Manager, Biller, Coder-RHIT, Medical Records Technician, and Nurses Aid. In these roles, Jay was involved in various tasks and responsibilities such as data management, informatics, programming, reports creation, training, interface management, and system maintenance. Jay has expertise in multiple systems and programming languages such as Cerner, RPMS, CPSI, WebPT, Point Click Care, DA2, SQL programming, Rhapsody Interface Systems, Dentrix, Plexis, and Excel.

Jay Merculief-Barker earned an Associates degree in Health Information Management from the University of Alaska Southeast from 1997 to 2000. In 1992 to 1993, Jay studied Danish Language and Literature at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Southern Denmark. Later, from 2020 to 2023, Jay pursued a Bachelor's degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management at California Coast University.
