Austin McDaniel has a diverse work experience in communications, marketing, and media. Austin started their career as an Operations Crew Member at KTVA CBS 11 News, where they operated various broadcast equipment and designed graphics. Austin then worked as a Web/Video Coordinator for the Parnell for Governor 2010 campaign, where they developed and maintained the campaign website and served as the videographer. Austin later joined the Alaska Republican Party as a Victory Office Manager, coordinating efforts for the 2012 general election. Austin also worked at the Office of Alaska Governor Sean Parnell as a Media Technology Specialist, where they managed video, photography, social media, and web presence. Before that, they served as a Correctional Officer II at the Alaska Department of Corrections. Austin's experience in digital marketing and development expanded when they became a Digital Marketing Strategist at GCI General Communication, Inc., where they managed the social media presence and online advertising. Austin further honed their communication skills at the Executive Office of Governor Mike Dunleavy, first as a Digital Communications Manager and then as Deputy Communications Director. Currently, Austin is with the Alaska State Troopers, where they serve as the Director of Communications, overseeing the Public Information Office and ensuring compliance with the Alaska Public Records Act. Additionally, they are the owner of Five Nine Solutions, a digital marketing and development company specializing in website development, social media marketing, and online advertising.
Austin McDaniel attended South Anchorage High School from 2006 to 2010. After that, they pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a specialization in Marketing at the University of Alaska Anchorage from 2010 to 2014.
