Derek Miller

Principal Systems Engineer at Albers Aerospace

Derek Miller has a strong background in aerospace engineering, with experience at Albers Aerospace, Gulfstream Aerospace, and Sierra Nevada Corporation. At Albers Aerospace, they currently hold the position of Principal Systems Engineer, where they provide technical direction in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and leads project teams. Their responsibilities also include generating requirements and design specifications for complex projects. Prior to their role at Albers Aerospace, Derek worked as a Senior Systems Engineer at the same company, where they were involved in MBSE and Agile processes. At Gulfstream Aerospace, Derek served as an Electrical Engineer from 2017 to 2020. Derek Miller attended Liberty University from 2010 to 2013 and obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering. Prior to that, Derek briefly studied Mechanical Engineering at York College of Pennsylvania from 2009 to 2010. In 2022, they obtained a certification as a Part 107 Remote Pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration.
