Alex Onojeghuo

Alex Onojeghuo (PhD) is a seasoned professional in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), currently serving as a Senior Specialist at the Alberta Geological Survey since March 2022, focusing on web mapping applications and spatial data dissemination. With extensive experience spanning several roles, including Geospatial Data Scientist at Jolexy Environmental Services and Senior Geospatial Analyst at Solstice Environmental Management, Alex has contributed to a variety of environmental monitoring and impact assessment projects. Previous positions also include research roles at the Alberta Biodiversity Monitoring Institute and Lancaster University, along with notable work with J.D. Irving and McDermott International. Alex holds a PhD in Geography with a focus on remote sensing and GIS from Lancaster University, complemented by an MSc from the University of Lagos and a BSc from Enugu State University of Science and Technology.
