Ryan Derksen

Ryan Derksen is an experienced professional in the field of regulatory oversight related to the upstream oil and gas industry. Currently serving as the Manager of Field Operations Northwest at Alberta Energy Regulator since October 2013, Ryan Derksen has also held roles as a Land & Wildlife Technical Specialist and Field Inspector. Key responsibilities include the implementation of strategies for compliance with regulatory requirements under the Public Lands Act and Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, focusing on land management, wildlife mitigation, soil conservation, and vegetation management. Prior to this, Ryan Derksen worked for the Government of Alberta as a Land Use Officer and Forest Officer, overseeing oil and gas approvals as well as logging operations. Educational background includes studies at NAIT from 2006 to 2008.
