Cheng-Chun Peng

Cheng-Chun Peng has a diverse work experience in the field of optometry and ophthalmic research. Cheng-Chun started their career as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Florida, where they assisted with courses in biology and process design. During their time as a Ph.D. student and Research Assistant, they focused on the development of silicone hydrogel materials for extended-wear contact lenses and explored novel drug delivery systems. Cheng-Chun then moved on to become a Postdoctoral Fellow at UC Berkeley, where they conducted research on in-vitro spoilation of soft contact lenses and developed mathematical models to simulate tear dynamics. Cheng-Chun Peng later worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Clinical Research Center, College of Optometry, UC Berkeley. Their most recent role was at CooperVision, where they held multiple positions. As a Scientist, Senior Scientist, and Principal Scientist, they led research teams, developed lab-based gauge systems, and worked on the development of lipid delivery systems through contact lenses. Cheng-Chun Peng's extensive experience in the field has prepared him for their current position as a Principal Scientist II at Alcon.

Cheng-Chun Peng holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida, which was completed between 2007 and 2011. Prior to that, Cheng-Chun Peng obtained an M.S in Chemical Engineering from National Taiwan University from 2003 to 2005, and a B.S in Chemical Engineering from the same institution from 1999 to 2003.
