Janel Boyce-Rustay

Janel Boyce-Rustay has extensive work experience in the field of regulatory affairs and pharmacology. Janel is currently the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at Alector, where they have been working since March 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs at Alector from December 2019 to March 2022.

Before joining Alector, Janel worked at Genentech from 2013 to 2019, where they held various roles in product development regulatory, including Senior Director and Program Director. Janel also worked at AbbVie in 2013 as part of the regulatory affairs team.

Janel's earlier experience includes working at Abbott Laboratories from 2006 to 2012, where they were involved in regulatory affairs and conducted research in pharmacology. Janel held positions such as Associate Research Investigator Pharmacologist and Senior Research Pharmacologist.

Janel started their career as a Post Doctoral Fellow at the National Institutes of Health in 2004, where they conducted research on the involvement of NMDAR in ethanol reward and emotion-related behaviors.

Janel Boyce-Rustay holds a B.A. in Psychobiology from Arcadia University. Later, they pursued further education at Oregon Health & Science University, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Behavioral Neuroscience.
