Jingjing Gao

Director Of Biostatistics at Alector

Jingjing Gao has a strong background in biostatistics and research. They began their career as a Biostatistics Summer Intern at Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research & Development, L.L.C. in 2007, where they focused on modeling drug resistance to a new antibiotic medicine. From there, they worked as a Biostatistics Summer Intern at Merck & Co. in 2008, developing a new statistical method for quality control purposes.

In 2009, Gao joined the Center for Comprehensive Informatics at Emory University as a Research Scientist, and in 2012, they also took on the role of Biostatistician/Research Scientist at the Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University.

Their experience in the academic realm continued at AbbVie, where they worked as a Manager of Statistics from 2013 to 2015, and then as a Senior Manager of Statistics from 2015 to 2017.

Gao then transitioned to Gilead Sciences, where they served as a Senior Manager of Biostatistics from 2017 to 2018, and later as an Associate Director of Biostatistics from 2018 to 2019.

From 2019 to 2021, Gao worked as an Associate Biostatistical Director at GRAIL, Inc.

Currently, they hold the position of Director of Biostatistics at Alector since December 2021. Their diverse work experience showcases their expertise in biostatistics, research methodology, and statistical modeling.

Jingjing Gao earned their B.S. in Computational Mathematics from Beijing University of Technology. Jingjing then went on to pursue an M.A. in Mathematics from the University at Buffalo, which they completed in 2004. Subsequently, they obtained a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from Emory University, completing their doctoral studies in 2010.
