Michelle Lee

Michelle Lee has a diverse work experience in the legal and biotechnology industries. Michelle is currently the Senior Director of IP at Alector, starting in 2023. Prior to this role, they were the Director of Intellectual Property at Alector from 2021 to 2023. Michelle also worked as a Senior Patent Counsel at Genentech from 2019 to 2021. Michelle has also served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2020. In addition, Michelle has worked as a Senior Patent Counsel at Five Prime Therapeutics, Inc. from 2018 to 2019 and as a Senior Corporate Counsel, Intellectual Property at Adaptive Biotechnologies Corp. from 2014 to 2018. Michelle began their career as a Patent Attorney at Fenwick and West in 2010. Michelle has also gained legal experience as a Law Clerk at Kim & Chang in 2009 and as an Extern for Honorable Judge Marilyn H. Patel at the Federal District Court of Northern California in 2009. Prior to their legal career, Michelle worked as a Consultant at FICO in 2006 and as an Analyst at bioStrategies Group from 2005 to 2006.

Michelle Lee received their High School Diploma from New Trier High School in 1997. Michelle then attended Northwestern University from 1997 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Michelle further pursued their education at the University of Chicago from 2003 to 2005, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Biochemistry. Lastly, they attended the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings) from 2006 to 2009, where they focused on studying Law.
