Rupesh Kumar

Rupesh Kumar has a diverse work experience in the field of health, safety, and human factors. Rupesh started their career in 2006 as a Research Assistant at Luleå University of Technology, where they conducted applied research on occupational health and physical working environments. Rupesh later became an Associate Professor, teaching courses on measuring manufacturing productivity and total productive maintenance.

In 2012, Rupesh joined Statoil as a Human Factor Lead and HSE/Technical working environment specialist. Rupesh held this role until 2016, during which they contributed to the development of guidelines for reducing maintenance stops and improving productivity.

Following their time at Statoil, Rupesh joined Vattenfall as a Health & Safety Specialist. Rupesh'sresponsibilities included ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental management systems, conducting investigations of incidents, and coordinating work environment training.

In 2020, Rupesh joined Alfa Laval as an Environmental Health Safety Specialist. Rupesh moved up to the position of MTO, Health & Safety Lead at Hitachi Energy in 2021, before returning to Alfa Laval in 2022 as the Health, Safety & Human Factor Lead.

Throughout their career, Rupesh has made significant contributions to their organizations, including presenting comprehensive incident data analysis, leading campaigns to reduce sick leave, and developing frameworks for accident investigation and working environment education.

Overall, Rupesh Kumar has a strong background in health, safety, and human factors, with experience in research, teaching, and leadership roles.

Rupesh Kumar obtained a PhD in Industrial Design/Ergonomics from Luleå University of Technology from 2001 to 2006. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science degree in Industrial Ergonomics from the same university from 1999 to 2001. In terms of additional certifications, they completed a course in Byggarbetsmiljösamordnare BAS - P & BAS - U from Teknologisk Institut in 2020 and obtained a certification in Accident Investigation from Statoil in 2013. Rupesh also acquired certifications in Setting Up a PMO from The Project Management Institute in 2011 and ESA- 19 Fackkunnig Repetition from Energiföretagen Sverige in July 2020.
