Helal Ismail

Helal Ismail started their work experience in 2008 as a Software Engineer freelancer. Helal then worked as a Tech Lead and Engineering Manager at QuestionPro from 2011 to 2013. In 2013, they joined Ability AI as a Lead Solutions Architect and later became the Director of Engineering, where they scaled a small team into a cross-functional distributed team in multiple countries. In 2017, they worked as a Technology Speaker at the World Economic Forum and as a Managing Partner at Raptors.TECH. Helal also served as the Head of Engineering - Mass Transportation at Careem from 2018 to 2019. From 2019 to 2021, they worked as the Head of Technology at CAFU, the MENA region's first fuel and car services on-demand startup. Currently, Helal Ismail is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Alfan since 2022.

Helal Ismail has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Software Engineering from Alexandria University. Additionally, Helal Ismail holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management from UCL.
