Technical Operations Manager (transmission/ingest/master Control/qc) at Alhurra

Brett Gerringer has extensive work experience in the broadcasting industry. Brett started their career in 1999 as an Assistant Manager and Instrument Tech at Gerald's Guitar. In 2001, they worked as a Board Operator and Live Talent for Clear Channel Radio, where they also served as a voice talent and performed as an on-air DJ. In the same year, they joined CBS News as a Freelance Camera/Decko Operator for live sporting events. Brett assisted in the setup of production trucks, sets, and cameras, and operated field and ground cameras.

In 2001, Brett joined Media General as a Camera/Tape Operator, where they operated studio cameras, trained talent, and provided daily and monthly studio services. Brett then held the role of Graphic Artist, creating full-screen graphics for newscasts and commercials. Brett also ran and uploaded Thunder & Lightning Still store programs. From 2003 to 2005, they worked as a Master Control Operator and Technical Director at Media General, dubbing tapes, updating daily logs, and caching commercials and promos into an HP server using Spotcacher.

Brett joined Discovery Communications in 2005 as a Master Control Operator, where they edited and timed daily playlists, checked and replaced media, and managed bugs, banners, and other graphics. Brett later became a Media Management Coordinator, responsible for quality control on-air graphics, troubleshooting during live events, and managing Video on Demand (VOD) creation. From 2011 to 2017, Brett served as a Broadcast Operations Supervisor at Discovery Communications, overseeing day-to-day activities of Broadcast Operations and Master Control and managing a team responsible for monitoring on-air playouts and satellite signals.

In 2017, Brett joined NPR as an Operations NOC Supervisor/Acting Manager. In this role, they reported directly to the Director of Operations, developed and implemented a total rebuild of the NOC room, procedures, and policies, and project managed mission-critical work across multiple divisional groups. Currently, they work at Middle East Broadcasting Networks as a Technical Operations Manager, specializing in transmission, ingest, and master control.

Brett Gerringer's education history includes an Associate degree in TV & Radio Broadcasting from Trident Tech, which they obtained between 2002 and 2004. Prior to that, they earned a Diploma in Acting from Wando High from 1996 to 2000. Additionally, Brett has not provided any information regarding additional certifications or obtained a pilot's license.
