Thaer Soukar

Thaer Soukar has diverse work experience in the media industry. Thaer served as the Vice President of Digital Platforms and Strategy at Middle East Broadcasting Networks from March 2020. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Digital Content at the same company from June 2018 to March 2020. From 2011 to 2018, Thaer worked at Sky News Arabia as the Head of Digital Strategy. Thaer joined du in 2010 and worked as the Editor-in-Chief of the trilingual, MENA-wide entertainment and lifestyle digital community called anayou.com until 2011. Thaer also worked at ITP as the Group Editor from 2007 to 2009, overseeing the franchised editions of three international men's lifestyle publications. Thaer served as the Editorial Manager at MBC from 2006 to 2007 and played a key role in setting the editorial guidelines for the largest Arabic entertainment portal, www.mbc.net. Thaer also had short-term roles at Euro RSCG Furness and ITP, where they held various editorial positions.

Thaer Soukar completed their Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from Al Ba'th University, studying from 1994 to 1998.
