David McRay, MD, HMDC serves as the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director of the Murfreesboro Inpatient Unit at Alive Hospice since April 2019. Previously, David McRay was a Professor at the University of Tennessee-Nashville Family Medicine Residency Program from January 2015 to April 2019 and served as the Director of Maternal-Child Health in the Department of Family Medicine at John Peter Smith Hospital from August 2008 to December 2014. Earlier in their career, David McRay was the CEO of Dayspring Family Health Center for nearly two decades, from July 1989 to July 2008. David McRay completed a Family Medicine Residency at John Peter Smith Hospital between 1986 and 1989 and obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree from Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine in 1986. Education also includes a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Vanderbilt University, earned in 1982, and initial studies at Duke University in 1978-1979.
