Henderson Lu has a diverse range of work experience in the biotechnology and research field. Henderson is currently working as a Senior Research Associate at Allakos Inc. Prior to this, they held the position of Process Development Associate II at Encoded Therapeutics Inc., where they were involved in the development of next-generation cell lines for gene therapy manufacturing.
Henderson also worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at Keck Graduate Institute, where they contributed to the development of a manufacturing process for a gene therapy product in clinical trials. Henderson gained experience in unit operations, process design, economic modeling, and facility design.
Additionally, Henderson completed an internship as a Biomanufacturing Intern at Cell Care Therapeutics, where they assisted with process development and quality analysis. Henderson optimized analytic tools and conducted product stabilization studies.
Henderson's earlier experiences include working as a Graduate Student Consultant for Gilead Sciences and an Intern Student at Keck Graduate Institute. Henderson also worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the David Mills Lab at UC Davis, focusing on the effects of Human Milk Oligosaccharides on mammalian cells.
Outside of their scientific pursuits, Henderson held leadership roles in the Alpha Phi Omega - Iota Phi Chapter, serving as the Vice President of Membership and Recording Secretary.
Henderson Lu pursued their education in a systematic and progressive manner. Henderson started their academic journey at the University of California, Davis from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology. With a strong foundation in this field, they then proceeded to enroll at the Keck Graduate Institute from 2018 to 2020. During their time there, Henderson successfully completed a Master's Degree program specializing in Biopharmaceutical Processing. These educational experiences demonstrate their dedication to expanding their knowledge and expertise in the biotechnology and biopharmaceutical fields.
