Nyakallo Merafe

Nyakallo Merafe currently serves as the Manager of the Social Innovation & Incubation Unit at Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropies, overseeing strategy and operations to foster entrepreneurial activity in South Africa. Previously, Nyakallo held the role of Fellowship Selection and Recruitment Specialist at the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation, managing the fellowship selection strategy and collaborating with internal teams to attract high-quality candidates. Additional experience includes serving as a Programme Officer on the Fellowship team, where Nyakallo contributed to the development and assessment of Candidate Fellows. Before that, Nyakallo worked in Corporate Social Investment at Investec, engaging with various social initiatives, and as an Online English Teacher for EF Englishtown, providing English lessons to international students. Nyakallo holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with a focus on History, Sociology, and Gender Studies, as well as an Honours degree in History from the University of Cape Town.
