Brian Sayer

Brian Sayer has extensive work experience in the software development field. Brian worked at Allan Gray Proprietary Limited from 2015 to present, starting as a Senior Developer, then progressing to a Tech Lead, and currently holding the position of Principal Developer. In their current role, Brian provides technical oversight for the investor and financial adviser reporting teams, mentors team members, and contributes to various cross-team initiatives. Prior to Allan Gray, Brian worked as a Development Manager at Customised Applications from 2013 to 2015. Before that, they held similar positions at Fundamental Software from 2011 to 2013 and Distell in 2006. Additionally, Brian worked as a Software Developer at Kinetic Marketing Delivery Systems from 2002 to 2006, where they played a significant role in rewriting the company's marketing delivery system application.

Brian Sayer earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science from the University of Cape Town, studying from 1998 to 2001. Additionally, they obtained two certifications related to functional programming in Scala from Coursera Course Certificates: "Functional Program Design in Scala" in September 2017 and "Functional Programming Principles in Scala" in 2016.
