Melissa Gordon Pringle, Ph.D. has over 25 years of experience in the environmental and coastal resources management field. Melissa specializes in environmental science, policy, and management with a focus on coastal resources, watersheds, and water quality. Melissa served as a Senior Principal Scientist and Vice President at Allen Engineering and Science, where they were also the Director of Business Development and Program Manager for the Natural Resources Management Division. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Staff Scientist at URS Greiner Woodward Clyde, focusing on stormwater runoff management. Melissa also served as a Program Coordinator and Knauss Marine Policy Fellow at the NOAA Office of the Chief Scientist, where they assisted in coordinating the National Ocean Conference and Year of the Ocean activities.
Melissa Gordon Pringle, Ph.D. obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology from Millsaps College between 1987 and 1991. Following this, they pursued their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Environmental Studies at Louisiana State University from 1991 to 1993. Melissa furthered their education at Louisiana State University, where they achieved their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Oceanography and Coastal Sciences from 1993 to 1997.
