Chris Oakes

Chris Oakes has nearly 24 years of work experience in law enforcement. Chris began their career at the Oakdale Police Department in 1998, serving as a Sergeant for five years. In 2004, they joined the Allen Parish Sheriff's Office as a Lieutenant, where they worked for eight years. In 2012, they took on the role of 911/Communications Director at the Allen Parish Sheriff's Office. Recently, in April 2022, they became the Allen Parish Homeland Security Director.

Chris Oakes received a POST Certification in Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, Firefighting, and Related Protective Services from the Calcasieu Law Enforcement Training Academy in 1999. From 1987 to 1989, they attended Oakdale Vocational Technical School, where they obtained a degree in Automotive Technology. Chris graduated from Elizabeth High School in 1986 with a diploma in General Studies.
