Daniel McCourtney

Daniel McCourtney is an accomplished environmental and land manager with extensive experience in project management, compliance, and permitting within the energy sector. Currently serving at ALLETE / Minnesota Power since February 2008, Daniel oversees environmental and land management programs, coordinates cross-functional teams, and manages environmental compliance for capital projects across multiple states. Prior to this role, Daniel held positions including Senior Siting & Permitting Specialist and Land Management Specialist II, where responsibilities included public speaking, federal permitting coordination, and managing utility-owned land. Daniel's previous experience includes forest management and timber sale establishment within both Plum Creek and St. Louis County Land Department, supported by a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and an Associate of Applied Science in Forestry & Wildlife Management from Vermilion Community College.
