Michael A. Rodriguez is CEO and President of Alliance Building Services. Michael began his career as a porter at The World Trade Center in 1988 and quickly recognized his passion for continued development and being a positive role model in the industry. Lacking a formal education only fueled Michael’s determination to expand his knowledge and experience. Following the 1993 bombing of The World Trade Center, he left janitorial services and began a supervisory role at a prominent security company. Although rewarding and instrumental in his education of commercial security, it did not take long for Michael to return to his roots at The World Trade Center as a janitorial supervisor. His hard work and dedication soon brought additional opportunities in the industry. Hence, the beginning of his career at First Quality Maintenance in 1995.
Leading up to Michael’s appointment to CEO and President of Alliance Building Services in 2020, he has had an impressive history of being a born motivator, empowering his team members to recognize their potential and instilling core company values that continue to drive the organization.
As CEO and President, Michael is responsible for all facets of Alliance, from the front-line employees to back-office support and executives. “We are all members of the Alliance team. Superior execution is a direct result of team collaboration, communication, and commitment to excellence.”
In 2009, Michael was chosen as one of Crain’s 40 most dynamic business people under age 40 in New York City. In 2010, he received the Los Niños Image Award for Business for the Committee for Hispanic Children and Families, Inc. and in 2014, he was honored at the National Jewish Health’s AIR Society The Sky’s The Limit Benefit.
Michael, under the Alliance banner, has sponsored several community events including "Swing for a Cure" Golf Classic to benefit The Herophilos Fund for Pancreatic Cancer Research at Columbia University Medical Center for the last ten years.
Michael also advocates for the betterment of the Latino community by serving on the Board of the Committee for Hispanic Children and Families, Inc. and the Diabetes Research Institute.
Michael provides substantial contributions to several organizations of which include the Nontraditional Employment for Women (NEW), Big Brother Big Sisters of NYC, St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters, Nassau Suffolk Services for Autism (NSSA) and enCourage Kids Foundation.
