Katrin Werner-Perez

Katrin Werner-Perez has worked in the healthcare industry since 2015. In that time, they have held roles at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, SmithBucklin, NAHU, American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), and Alliance for Aging Research.

At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, they were a Campaign Outreach Assistant (Temporary Hire), where they managed fundraising campaigns, wrote chapter reports for coordinators and directors, and handled administrative task work. Katrin also designed, wrote, and edited content used for printed materials and e-newsletters.

At SmithBucklin, they were a Grant Administrator, Corporate Social Responsibility Chair, and Healthcare & Scientific Industry Membership and Operations Associate. As Grant Administrator, they provided administrative and project support to client and staff team, including phone support and scheduling client meetings. As Corporate Social Responsibility Chair, they organized a donation-based, tiered event for which the proceeds benefited Mary's Center in Washington, D. C. ; the total donation amassed over $12,000. As Healthcare & Scientific Industry Membership and Operations Associate, they produced and designed monthly newsletter distributed to +400 members, processed invoices, expense reports, and participated in the development of the annual budget, monthly financial forecasting, and annual audit activities.

At NAHU, they were a Government Relations Coordinator, where they revitalized the association's social media and implemented marketing and promotion tactics that led to a 108% increase in profile visits and 44% increase in engagement on Twitter. Katrin also drafted weekly articles that were electronically distributed to over 100,000 independent health insurance agents and brokers and archived on the website, and submitted quarterly Lobbying Disclosure Act filings.

At American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), they were a Senior Coordinator, Healthcare Relations and Grants and Coordinator, Healthcare Relations and Grants.

Currently, they are a Health Programs Manager at Alliance for Aging Research.

Katrin Werner-Perez earned a Bachelor's degree in Public Health Education and Promotion from the University of Utah between 2012 and 2015. Katrin also obtained a certification in CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers from the American Red Cross in April 2015.
