Apostolos Anargyrou

Apostolos Anargyrou has a diverse work experience in the insurance and financial services sector. Apostolos currently holds the position of Chief Risk Officer at Allianz Direct since 2020. Prior to this role, they worked at Allianz as the Head of Life & Health Risk Center of Competence, Group Risk from 2017 to 2019, where they were responsible for various risk management tasks including collaboration with the College of Supervisors, coordination of risk review in the group life product approval process, and estimation of capital intensity for in-force and new business. Apostolos also had a secondment at ERGO INSURANCE (Belgium) as the Head of Quantitative Risk Management from 2015 to 2016. Earlier in their career, Apostolos held roles at ERGO Group AG as a Senior Life Actuary and Actuarial Governance & IRM International Life from 2010 to 2016, at WATSON WYATT INSURANCE & FINANCIAL SERVICES CONSULTING HOLDINGS LIMITED as an Investment Consultant from 2007 to 2010, and at R+V Versicherung as a Werkstudent and Praktikant from 2005 to 2007.

Apostolos Anargyrou attended Ulm University from 1999 to 2007, where they obtained a Diplom Math-oec. in Wirtschaftsmathematiker. In 2003, they attended Swansea University and earned a Master of Science degree in Mathematics and Computing for Finance, completing the program in 2004. Apostolos completed their high school education at Werner Siemens Schule in Stuttgart from 1996 to 1999, where they obtained an Abitur in Elektrotechnik und Elektronik. Additionally, Apostolos Anargyrou earned a certification as an Actuary (DAV) from the Deutsche Aktuarvereinigung e.V. in 2012.
