Marc Berns has accumulated several years of work experience in the field of information security. Marc started their career as a project manager at CWI in 1990, and then moved on to work as a senior consultant at KPMG Consulting from 1996 to 1999. In 2001, they joined Covisint Europe B.V. as an Information Security Manager, a position they held until 2004 when they joined ABN AMRO NV as the Head of Information Security for Western Europe. Marc worked at ABN AMRO NV until 2012 before joining Allianz Nederland as the Chief Information Security Officer for the Benelux region in 2013, where they are currently employed.
Marc Berns completed their education with a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Economics from the University of Amsterdam from 1982 to 1990. Prior to that, they attended Scholengemeenschap Lelystad from 1976 to 1982 to complete their VWO degree. In addition, they obtained certifications such as CISA from ISACA in 2011 and CISSP from (ISC)² in 2004.
