Jochen Wieland

Jochen Wieland has a diverse work experience in the fields of actuarial consulting, management consulting, and teaching. Jochen currently holds the position of Chief Actuary Life/Health at Allianz Österreich since December 2021. Prior to this, they served as a Coverage Officer Group Actuarial at Allianz SE from October 2019 to November 2021. Jochen also worked as an Expert Project Leader at The Boston Consulting Group from November 2016 to September 2019. Jochen Wieland started their career as an Actuarial Consultant at ifa - Institut für Finanz- und Aktuarwissenschaften GmbH from December 2011 to September 2016. Jochen also gained experience as an Intern Actuarial Consulting at PwC in 2011 and as a Visiting Associate (Intern Management Consulting) at The Boston Consulting Group in 2010. Furthermore, they worked as a Teaching Associate at San Diego State University from August 2009 to July 2010. Jochen Wieland began their professional journey with internships at Mercer Deutschland GmbH in 2008 and AXA in 2008.

Jochen received their Doctor of Economics and Management (Dr. rer. pol.) degree in Actuarial and Financial Mathematics from Ulm University, from the years 2012 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Applied Mathematics from San Diego State University, from 2009 to 2010. Jochen also holds a Dipl. math. oec. degree in Wirtschaftsmathematik from Ulm University, which they completed from 2005 to 2011.

In addition to their degrees, they have obtained several certifications. Jochen became a Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary (CERA) through the Deutsche Aktuarvereinigung e.V. in August 2019. Jochen also obtained the Aktuar (DAV) certification from the same institution in March 2016. Additionally, they received a Doctor of Economics and Management (Dr. rer. pol.) degree from the University of Ulm in June 2016, and a Dipl. math. oec. degree from Ulm University in March 2012. Furthermore, they obtained their M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from San Diego State University in December 2010.
