Elysse Dowden has a diverse work experience spanning different organizations and roles. Elysse started their career as an intern at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in 2013. Elysse then worked as a Special Program Instructor at Wayne-Westland Public Schools from 2013 to 2015, where they provided after-school tutoring and mentoring to students. In 2016, Elysse joined Bright Futures as a Special Programs Instructor, and they remained in that role until 2018. Elysse then transitioned to a new position as an Early Childhood Assistant Coordinator at the RUDOLF STEINER SCHOOL ASSOCIATION OF ANN ARBOR in 2015, which they held until 2023. In 2018, they also took on an additional role as an Interim Enrollment Coordinator at the Detroit Waldorf School, a position they held until 2023. Most recently, they joined Allied Media Projects in 2022 as a Human Resources Coordinator.
Elysse Dowden attended Eastern Michigan University from 2008 to 2013 and earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. During their time at the university, they also pursued a degree in African American Studies, specializing in African American Studies and Africology, from 2008 to 2012.
