Christian Ammermann has extensive experience in supply chain management and sustainability. Christian is currently serving as the Chief Supply Chain Officer at Almatis since 2019. Prior to this, they worked as the Program Director for Supply Chain Management Transformation at Emirates Steel from 2015 to 2019. In this role, they developed and implemented the company's supply chain transformation strategy, improving procurement lead times and increasing supplier contract coverage. Before Emirates Steel, Ammermann served as the Vice President of Global Sustainability at Aleris from 2008 to 2015, where they led the design and implementation of the company's global sustainability strategy. Christian also played a crucial role in publishing the company's first Global Sustainability Report and chaired the Sustainability Committee of European Aluminium Association. Preceding Aleris, they worked at ArcelorMittal as the Manager of Global Supply Chain from 2005 to 2008, directing supply chain functions and leading freight cost reduction programs. Ammermann started their career at Dow Chemical in 1997 as the Global Demand Planner and Project Manager for the Dow Latex business unit. Christian was responsible for implementing the SAP-APO forecasting system and creating the S&OP process for the business unit. Ammermann began their professional journey at DB Schenker in 1992 as an Airfreight Import Supervisor before transitioning into supply chain management roles.
Christian Ammermann earned an MBA in International Management from the SIMT - Stuttgart Institute of Management & Technology from 2000 to 2002. Christian also holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Foreign Trade and Logistics from Universidade Paulista, which they completed from 1994 to 1997. In addition, Ammermann obtained a certification in Production and Inventory management (CPIM) from APICS - American Production and Inventory Control Society between 1999 and 2002. Christian further enhanced their skills by completing a Green Belt certification in Six Sigma from Six Sigma in 2004 and a course in Lean Manufacturing in 2012.
