Cheryl Brakefield

Cheryl Brakefield is a seasoned Human Resources professional with extensive experience in various roles. Currently serving as Human Resources Manager at Alpha Omega Construction Group, Inc. since October 2022, Cheryl previously held the position of Director of Human Resources at South Piedmont Community College from 2011 to October 2022, where responsibilities included managing onboarding processes, HR training sessions, and compliance with the Family Medical Leave Act and Workers Compensation claims. Prior to that, Cheryl worked as Lead Human Resources Coordinator at the same college, managing job postings and processing employment applications. Additional experience includes serving as Associate Director at Habitat for Humanity Matthews and Operations Training Manager/VP at BankAtlantic. Cheryl holds a BA in Economics and Political Science from the University at Albany, and a certificate in Training and Human Resource Development from Florida International University, along with education from Binghamton University and H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship.
