Desmond McGowan

Desmond McGowan has extensive work experience in the finance and real estate sectors. Desmond currently serves as the Partner and CFO at Alpine Grove Partners LLP, a position they have held since September 2020. Prior to this, Desmond worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Fordham University's Real Estate Institute starting in June 2017. Desmond also held a similar role at NYU School of Professional Studies' Schack Institute of Real Estate starting in June 2016. Desmond served as the Managing Member at Clarendon Investments from January 2001 onwards.

From October 2015 until September 2020, Desmond was the Managing Director at Oceanview Advisors. Desmond previously held the position of Chief Financial Officer at True North Management Group, LLC from September 2008 to September 2015. Desmond also served as the Chief Financial Officer at The Community Preservation Corporation and its subsidiary CPC Resources from April 2005 to August 2008.

Prior to these roles, Desmond held positions at Oceanview Advisors (2003-2005), Deutsche Bank (1998-2003), and Salomon Brothers (1983-1998), where they held the roles of Managing Director and Director, respectively.

Desmond McGowan began their education at Xaverian High School, where they studied from 1973 to 1977. Desmond then attended Yale University from 1977 to 1981, where they pursued a double major in Economics & American Studies, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree.

After a significant gap, McGowan returned to education and enrolled in the Seminary of Immaculate Conception from 2003 to 2009. During this time, they obtained a Master's Degree in Theology.

In addition to their formal education, McGowan has received several certifications. In September 2006, they obtained the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) certification from the CFA Institute. In December 2015, they obtained a Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement from the same institution. McGowan also holds a New York State Licensed Real Estate Broker certification, obtained in February 2017 from the New York Department of State.
