Heidi Bernas

Heidi Bernas is a skilled chemist with significant experience in the field of chemistry, currently employed at ALS Scandinavia since August 2014, where analytical work involves assessing pharmaceuticals and water samples utilizing ICP-SFMS technology. Prior to this role, Bernas worked at Åbo Akademi University from June 2003 to March 2014 as a researcher, focusing on chemical reactions in heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysis and hydrometallurgical processes, contributing to the development of health-promoting products, biofuels, fragrances, and pharmaceutical intermediates. Bernas holds a Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) in Industrial Chemistry, a Teknologie licenciat in Teknisk kemi, and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Chemical Engineering, all obtained from Åbo Akademi University, along with an upper-secondary school-leaving certificate from Vörå samgymnasium.
