Clifford De Wit has extensive work experience in various leadership roles in the technology industry. Clifford is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Netstar, where they lead the telematics organization and integrates their device heritage with Big Data and AI to improve people's lives. Prior to this, Clifford worked as the Data and AI Practise Lead at Crayon, where they helped customers understand and leverage Big Data and AI to solve real-world business problems.
Clifford also co-founded Dexterity Digital, a digital business within the Metrofile group, where they served as the CTO. Here, they focused on building leading digital transformation products to help companies transition to the digital world and utilize technologies such as Cloud Computing and Machine Learning.
Before joining Dexterity Digital, Clifford held various roles at Microsoft. Clifford served as the DX Director and Chief Innovation Officer, owning all developer and innovation portfolios in Microsoft South Africa. Clifford managed PR activities, delivered executive public-facing technology events, and led a team of Technical Evangelists. Prior to this, Clifford was the DPE Director, responsible for the end-to-end developer business at Microsoft SA. Clifford also worked as an Architect and Consultant, collaborating with customers to design and implement enterprise-class solutions based on Microsoft technology.
Early in their career, Clifford worked as a Software Engineer at Nedbank, where they played a key role in creating the country's first internet banking solution. Clifford also worked as an Electronic Engineer at ATE, focusing on the design of microelectronic systems for helicopter and fixed-wing mission computers.
Clifford De Wit attended the University of the Witwatersrand from 1992 to 1995, where they obtained a BSc.Eng (Hons) degree in Electrical Engineering.
