Bessie Alcantara

Bessie Alcantara is an experienced executive leader in the nonprofit sector, currently serving as the Executive Director of Alternatives, Inc. since November 2018. Previously, Bessie held the position of Executive Director at BBF Family Services, where strategic planning, financial oversight, and staff development were key responsibilities. Prior roles include Director of Operations & Quality Improvement and Director of Program Operations at BUILD Chicago, where Bessie implemented organizational improvements, managed staff training, and developed evaluation processes. Bessie began their career at the Department of Human Services and has also worked in health support and community organizing. Bessie holds a Master of Social Work from Loyola University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from DePaul University.
