Sean Michael Ashworth

Sean Michael Ashworth has extensive work experience in the legal and compliance field. Sean Michael is currently working at Alto as the SVP, Legal. Prior to their current role, they held the position of VP, Compliance & Associate General Counsel at Alto. Sean has also worked at Cumberland Trust as the Vice President & Fiduciary Counsel from 2020 to 2021, and as the Vice President & Trust Officer from 2013 to 2020. Before that, they worked as a Partner at Trenchi & Ashworth, PLLC in 2012 and as a Licensed Mediator at the Center for Conflict Resolution in 2011. Additionally, Sean is a member of TechGC since 2024.

Sean Michael Ashworth obtained a B.S. degree in Philosophy and English Literature from Belmont University, where they attended from 2005 to 2008. Sean Michael then pursued a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology, completing it between 2009 and 2011. In 2012, Sean obtained a Tennessee Bar License, followed by a Certified Information Privacy Professional - United States (CIPP/US) certification from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals in 2019. In 2020, they obtained several additional certifications, including a Certified Information Privacy Professional - Europe (CIPP/E) certification, a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) certification, and a District of Columbia Bar License.
