Brandt Surgner

Brandt Surgner serves as Vice President, Corporate Secretary & Associate General Counsel for Altria Group. He serves as a liaison between the Board of Directors and Altria Group management. He also provides legal support to the Finance, Financial Reporting, Treasury, Investor Relations, Human Resources and Compliance functions of Altria Client Services.

Brandt joined Altria Client Services in 2006 after working as Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary for Tredegar Corporation in Richmond, Va. from 2003-2006, and as Senior Counsel, Operations, for Philip Morris Management Corporation from 1999-2003. In addition, Brandt has worked for the law firm of Hunton Andrews Kurth in Richmond, Va. and served as a law clerk to the Hon. Robert R. Merhige, Jr. in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

He received both his undergraduate and law degrees from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Va. and serves on the boards of Collegiate School and The American Civil War Museum in Richmond, Va.
