Gaurav Mehta

Gaurav Mehta has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Currently, they serve as the Chief Operating Officer at Alveolus Bio, a position they have held since 2023. Prior to this, they were the Senior Vice President of Business and Technology at the same company from 2022 to 2023.

Before joining Alveolus Bio, Mehta was a Co-founder and CEO / Independent Venture Builder at MIT Media Lab from 2021 to 2022. Gaurav also pursued an MIT Sloan MBA and was a Sloan Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2020 to 2021.

Mehta has previous experience in the biopharmaceutical and medical device industry. Gaurav worked at Evofem Biosciences as the Senior Director of Manufacturing and Supply Chain from 2018 to 2020. During this time, they led various operations, including clinical trials, R&D studies, global expansion, and business development/licensing efforts.

Prior to that, Mehta held various positions at Alcon, starting as a Controls Engineer and eventually becoming the Head of Global Supply Chain Projects. Gaurav managed teams and led transformation projects, M&A integration workstreams, and initiatives to improve stock availability and forecast accuracy.

Earlier in their career, Mehta gained experience at Rockwell Automation as an Engineering Project Manager and Field Service Engineer, and at Ethicon, Inc. (a Johnson & Johnson Company) as an Associate Process Engineer. Gaurav also had an engineering internship at Johnson & Johnson Medical, Inc.

Overall, Gaurav Mehta has a well-rounded background and expertise in operations, supply chain management, manufacturing, technology, and business development.

Gaurav Mehta completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from MIT Sloan School of Management in 2021. During their time there, they were a Sloan Fellow and received the Dean's Fellowship. In 2019, they attended Harvard University for Professional Development Programs, focusing on Negotiation Skills: Strategies for Increased Effectiveness. From 1994 to 1998, Gaurav obtained their Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University, with a concentration in Electrical Engineering. In 2015, they participated in The Program for Leadership and Management Development at Texas Christian University. Additionally, in 2018, Gaurav completed a finance-focused Manufacturing Technical Operations Finance Academy at Alcon.
