Shirley Prasad has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Currently, they are the Director of Health & Life Science at Gates Ventures and also holds the position of Director of Policy, Advocacy & Communications at the Alzheimer's Disease Data Initiative. Prior to this, Shirley served as the Senior Policy Director of Government Affairs at the Washington State Hospital Association and as the Director of Public Policy at the Community Health Network of Washington / Community Health Plan of Washington. Shirley also worked as the Director of Government Relations at the Washington Association of Community and Migrant Health Centers and as an Analyst at the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner. Earlier in their career, Shirley held positions as a Senior Associate at Alvarez and Marsal and PricewaterhouseCoopers, and as an Associate at Littler Mendelson Global.

Shirley Prasad holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. Shirley also earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Taxation from the University of Washington School of Law in 2004. Furthermore, Shirley Prasad completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in International Relations at The University of British Columbia. Shirley obtained a Master of Health Administration degree from the University of Washington School of Public Health in 2012.
