John Beavers

John Beavers has extensive work experience in conservation and environmental organizations. John served as the President of the Amazon Conservation Association since 2019. Prior to that, they held the position of Vice President & Director International Alliances Program at the National Audubon Society from 2011 to 2019. Before that, they worked at The Nature Conservancy, where they held various roles including Associate Director of Conservation Programs, Latin America (2009-2011), Director, Central America (2006-2009), Director of PROARCA/APM, Central America Region (2004-2007), and Director, Guatemala Country Program (2004-2006).

John Beavers earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Rutgers University from 1982 to 1986. From 1992 to 1994, they pursued their Master of Science degree in Natural Resource Economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
