Hongbing Cheng

Hongbing Cheng is a seasoned professional in the field of wireless communications with extensive experience in modem design and development. As the Manager of Modem Algorithm Design at Amazon since November 2020, Hongbing leads the modem design for the Kuiper project. Prior to this, Hongbing held the position of Principal Engineer at Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. from March 2014 to November 2020, where responsibilities included leadership roles in 5G/LTE cellular and WLAN modem development. Additionally, Hongbing served as a Senior Staff Engineer at Samsung Electronics and as a Research Assistant Professor at Stevens Institute of Technology. Hongbing holds a Ph.D. in Wireless Communications and a B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering, both from Peking University.
