Shanmugavel Ponnaiah

Shanmugavel Ponnaiah has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Shanmugavel began their career as a Programmer at Softex in 1989. Shortly after, they joined Ramco Systems as a Software Engineer where they developed and maintained the Purchase Order Module of the company's ERP product, Marshal, while also contributing to the development of innovative UI controls using C and Windows SDK 3.0.

In 1992, Shanmugavel worked as a Systems Programmer at Virtual Windows Private Limited, where they developed a Tools Library for Microsoft Windows 3.0 using VC++, including the creation of custom controls. Shanmugavel then returned to Ramco Systems in 1993 as a Senior Technical Consultant, delivering technology solutions in a Microsoft environment for Bankers Trust (Deutsche Bank), where they provided front office support to bond and zeroes traders and developed innovative solutions like a touch screen-based trade entry system and multi-threaded trade blotter.

From 2000 to 2005, Shanmugavel served as a Senior Manager Technical at Ramco Systems, where they managed and maintained large scale software development platforms, both in Java development environment and Microsoft technologies. Shanmugavel delivered various software pilot projects, proof of concepts, and managed the Aviation Solution for PHI Inc. in the TechCell Group.

Shanmugavel then joined Professional Access as the Director of Engineering in 2005, where they served in that role until 2006. During their time there, they oversaw engineering operations and projects.

Finally, in 2006, Shanmugavel became the First Vice President at Ambac, where they were responsible for delivering technology solutions in the Microsoft .NET Platform for the Bond Insurance Industry.

Shanmugavel Ponnaiah pursued their higher secondary education from VHN Higher Secondary School between 1983 and 1985. Shanmugavel then attended Thiagarajar College of Engineering from 1985 to 1989, where they completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Engineering.
