Toby Zhang

Toby Zhang currently serves as the MCU Design Director at Ambiq since September 2020, where Toby established and oversees the Ambiq China Design Team, focusing on extremely low-power MCU design. Prior to this role, Toby was the SOC Design Director and MCU product line manager at Shanghai Belling Co., Ltd. from June 2016 to September 2020, where responsibilities included building a SOC team and managing MCU products for smart metering and control applications. Previous experience also includes positions at Atmel Shanghai, where Toby managed IC design for ARM core-based MCUs, and at NXP, where Toby handled MCU SOC and IP architecture definition. Toby's career began at Freescale Semiconductor, contributing to MCU design project management and 8-bit MCU team leadership. Toby holds a Master's degree in Physical Electronics from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a Bachelor's degree from Jilin University.
