Fernando Cartaxo

Fernando Cartaxo is a Senior Mining Engineer at AMC Consultants since January 2020, with expertise in Feasibility Studies and Life Of Mine Plans (LOMP) for various underground mining projects, including Porgera Mine, Rampura Agucha Mine, Rosh Pinah Mine, and Olympic Dam Mine. Prior to this role, Fernando served as the Mine Planning Head of Department at Somincor - Lundin Mining from November 1999 to September 2018, overseeing short-term and long-term planning teams and ensuring safety and budget adherence. Fernando also held the position of Mine Planning Engineer, focusing on scheduling and planning for Neves-Corvo Mine, and began a career as a Trainee Engineer with hands-on experience in mining operations. Fernando holds a Licentiate degree in Mining and Mineral Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico and has completed training at the Naval Academy in the Portuguese War Navy.
