Johan van Wesemael

Johan Van Wesemael has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple industries. Johan currently holds the position of Commercial Director at Amcor, starting in April 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Buyse Metal Works Group as a Sales and Business Development Manager from September 2017 to February 2022. At Buyse Metal Works Group, Johan was responsible for business and market development in various countries, customer classification, and developing synergies within the group.

Before joining Buyse Metal Works Group, Johan served as a Sales Manager at Vanéflon from March 2016 to September 2017. Johan was responsible for sales activities during their tenure.

Johan also has experience in management roles. Johan worked as a Manager Inside Sales & Marketing at Krohne Belgium NV from May 2013 to September 2015. In this role, they oversaw inside sales and quotation departments, order coordination, technical service and support, and handled all marketing-related issues. Prior to that, they served as the Marketing Manager EMEAI at Magnetrol International NV from March 2010 to April 2013, organizing marketing efforts across Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India.

Johan's earlier roles include working as the Manager of Technology & Market Development at the International Zinc Association from September 1997 to March 2010. In this position, they played a key role in increasing awareness and demand for zinc metal worldwide. Before that, they worked as a Sales & Marketing Manager at Fibergrate from February 1996 to August 1997, and as an Industry Manager Rubber & Plastics EMEA Countries at Rio Tinto from January 1989 to January 1996.

Johan started their career as an Application & Development Engineer at Gates Corporation, where they worked from May 1987 to August 1989.

Johan Van Wesemael completed a Multidisciplinary base course in Health & Safety at KU Leuven in 2015-2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Industrial Management from Vlaamse Ekonomische Hogeschool, Part of Brussels University in 1991-1992. Johan also has a degree in Ingenieur (now Master) in Chemistry spec. Synthetic Polymers from HOGENT, which they completed during 1982-1985. Johan also holds a certification in VCA-VOL from HaCeCo-E.
