Aqueel Bohra

Aqueel Bohra, CFA has a diverse work experience in project development, project finance, and corporate finance. Aqueel currently holds the position of Senior Director of Project Development at AMEA Power, where they joined in January 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the Head of Project Finance for the same company from September 2019 to December 2020. Beginning in January 2017, Aqueel held the role of Director of Project Finance and Development at AMEA Power until August 2019.

Before joining AMEA Power, Aqueel worked as the Director of Project Finance at Al Nowais Investments from August 2011 to December 2016. Aqueel also gained extensive experience in corporate finance as the Manager of Corporate Finance at KPMG Lower Gulf Limited. During their tenure at KPMG, Aqueel led a team of professionals on various infrastructure advisory and corporate finance projects for both private and government clients. Notable transactions they were involved in include advising Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation on the development of a civil nuclear power program in the UAE and leading a consortium to advise the Department of Transport on a car park public-private partnership project in Abu Dhabi. Aqueel was with KPMG from October 2006 to June 2011.

Aqueel Bohra, CFA has a strong educational background in finance and engineering. From 2003 to 2005, they attended the CFA Institute in the USA, where they earned their Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) degree in Finance. Prior to that, from 1995 to 1996, Aqueel pursued an MBA in Marketing from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya. In 1994-1995, they obtained a Diploma in Business Finance (DBF) from ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, Hyderabad, with a focus on Banking, Corporate, Finance, and Securities Law. Aqueel's early education includes a B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering from MBM Engineering College, where they studied from 1989 to 1994. Additionally, Aqueel has also obtained the CFA certification from the CFA Institute.
