Lance Ivy has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and development. Lance started their career at QualitySmith as a Web Applications Developer, where they worked on building a scalable Ruby on Rails platform. Lance then joined ActiveScaffold as a Core Developer, contributing to the evolution of the AjaxScaffold project. Lance co-founded UserVoice and served as the Technical Co-Founder, responsible for architecting and developing the backend of the platform. Lance also co-founded Conclusive Systems LLC, where they initially assisted with the architecture of a degree audit system and eventually took over as the CTO. Lance worked as a Freelancer at Ivy Consulting before joining Kickstarter as a Lead Engineer, playing a crucial role in building and operating the site. Lance later served as the Interim VP of Engineering at Kickstarter and eventually became a Principal Engineer, creating a Platform Team focused on site stability and scalability. Lance joined Empatico as an Engineer Lead, leading the engineering effort and mentoring junior engineers. Most recently, Lance joined Ameelio as a Principal Software Engineer.
Lance Ivy attended Walla Walla University from 2000 to 2002, where they studied computer engineering and philosophy. Lance did not obtain a specific degree during this time.
