Whit Cobb has extensive experience in legal and corporate roles. Currently, they serve as the Senior Vice President, Legal & Corporate Secretary at Amentum, where they oversee the corporate secretary and security functions. Whit is also involved in M&A transactions and new business capture efforts.
Prior to their current role, Whit worked at PAE as the Executive Vice President & General Counsel for ten years. In this position, they provided legal and business advice to the Board, CEO, and private equity owners. Whit played a crucial role in developing and executing growth strategies, including M&A activities.
Before joining PAE, Whit was Vice President & Deputy General Counsel at BAE Systems, where they advised senior leadership and handled legal matters of company-wide significance. Whit also served as the Deputy General Counsel at the United States Department of Defense, overseeing and managing DoD-wide litigation and handling criminal justice issues.
Whit began their career as a Partner at Jenner & Block and also worked as a Judicial Fellow at the Administrative Office of the United States Courts. Additionally, they served as a Captain in the US Army and worked as an Assistant to the General Counsel.
Whit Cobb attended Yale Law School from 1987 to 1990, where they earned a J.D. degree. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate education at Duke University from 1983 to 1987, receiving an A.B. degree in Political Science and Public Policy Studies. Before their time at Duke, Whit Cobb attended Magruder HS from 1979 to 1983. Whit also attended Nurnberg American High School from 1977 to 1979. Their earliest education was at Pearsontown Elementary School, but no specific years are provided.
