Matt Arthur currently serves as the Professional Development Manager at the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) since January 2023. Previously, Matt held various roles at Tryon Palace from November 2007 to December 2022, including Day-to-Day Education Manager, Living History Programs Coordinator, and Acting Director of Education, along with additional responsibilities as Acting Branch Head for a total of four and a half years. Earlier in their career, Matt worked as a Historic Interpreter for Craven County School District and as a Theatre Arts Teacher at Temple Church, where Matt also served as Pastor of Communications. Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts, Religion, and Philosophy from Barton College and a Certificate in Disability Inclusion and Accessible Design from the University of Michigan.
