Dawn Michele Whitehead serves as the Vice President of the Office of Global Citizenship for Campus, Community, and Careers at the American Association of Colleges and Universities since January 2015, also holding the title of Senior Director for Global Learning and Curricular Change. Previously, at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, Whitehead was the Director of Curriculum Internationalization, where responsibilities included designing and teaching innovative courses and developing faculty support programs. Whitehead's teaching experience includes roles with the American Indian Reservation Project and the Overseas Student Teaching Project at Indiana University, as well as instructing for the Global Institute for Leadership and Civic Development. Early career experience includes teaching social studies at Pike High School and developing the Multicultural Studies curriculum. Whitehead holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Afro-American Studies, a Master of Science in International and Comparative Education, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education Policy Studies/International and Comparative Education, all from Indiana University.
