Norman Jones is a seasoned academic with extensive experience at Utah State University since August 1978, where current roles include Professor of History, Director of General Education and Curricular Integration, and chair of the General Education Committee. Recognized as Teacher of the Year in 2018, Norman has focused on undergraduate curriculum reform while teaching courses like "Religion and the Rise of Capitalism." As a higher education consultant since January 2010, Norman has led efforts in general education reform across various institutions. Additional roles include serving as a Senior Fellow with the Association of American Colleges and Universities and chairing the Utah Regents' Task Force on General Education since 2001. A distinguished scholar, Norman also held the title of Fletcher Jones Foundation Distinguished Fellow at the Henry E. Huntington Library in 2015-2016, where writing a book titled "Being Elizabethan" was a primary focus. Norman holds a PhD in History from the University of Cambridge, earned between 1974 and 1978.
