B D Tiner has extensive experience in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. B D began their career in 1989 as a Clinical Professor in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at UTHSCSA, a position they held until 2013. In 1996, they became the owner of Alamo Maxillofacial Surgical Associates, where they worked until 2022. Additionally, they served as President of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons from 2020 to 2022. Following their presidency, they held the position of Immediate Past President from 2021 to 2023. Currently, they serve as Past President of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, starting in 2022.

B D Tiner completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Zoology at Arkansas State University from 1968 to 1972. From 1973 to 1975, they pursued a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Later, from 1984 to 1987, they attended UT Health San Antonio to obtain a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in the field of Medicine.
