Claire Williams

Claire Williams is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in financial and economic reporting. Currently serving as a Congress Reporter and previously as an OCC/FDIC/Treasury Reporter for American Banker since February 2022, Claire has a solid background in covering major financial institutions. Prior to this role, Claire worked at Morning Consult from October 2018 to February 2022 as an Economics & Financial Policy Reporter and gained experience in agribusiness reporting at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette from June 2015 to January 2017. Claire began a journalism career at The Daily Tar Heel, where investigative efforts addressed critical issues such as student fees and racial disparities, while also completing a noteworthy internship at The Charlotte Observer. Claire holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication with a minor in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
